My detailed career
I completed my veterinary studies at the Free University in Berlin in 2003. During my studies, I worked as a part-time student job in the development of human heart pumps (veterinary field for monitoring heart pump activity in animals) at the Heart Center Berlin.
After that, I gained extensive teaching experience through my 5-year work in the Clinic for small animals of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Leipzig. At the same time, I completed the training there to become a “Specialist in small animal medicine” and received the title after successfully passing the final examination (certified by the German/Saxonian State Chamber of Veterinarians) in 2007. I also trained students and german colleagues (veterinarian weekend seminars) theoretically and practically in imaging diagnostics, especially sonography. During this time I took part in national and international congresses of small animal medicine and traveled to Brazil (UNESP in Jaboticabal, Sao Paulo) for a study visit of several weeks. I also trained students there. In my spare time I support APAPA, Association Protectora de Animales y Plantas Ayamonte, with community work to minimize the feral cat and dog population in southern Spain.
From 2008 I worked as a practicing veterinarian in various clinics in Dubai/UAE. At the same time, I attended several congresses at home and abroad. In 2011 I had the honor of taking part in the 3rd Veterinary Middle East Conference both as a speaker and as a chair. In addition to my veterinary work, I also took over the medical management in one of the veterinary clinics for 5 years and gave both international and national students of the UAE the opportunity to get an insight into the daily clinical routine.
After my return to Germany in 2020, I worked as a small animal doctor and specialist in imaging diagnostics (X-ray, echocardiography and sonography). In addition, I was employed as a training manager for the further training of young veterinarians (with further training authorization to become “Specialist in small animal medicine”). I also trained students from Germany and abroad in the daily clinical routine. During this time I attended national and international training courses and congresses, for example in March/April 2022 “Ultrasound Master Class Heart Cat” and “Ultrasound Master Class Abdomen Cat” on the Costa d’en Blanes, Illes Balears, Mallorca/Spain.
I love caring for animals and educating colleagues and patient owners about veterinary medicine and science/healthcare. My many years of practical experience at home and abroad have strengthened my medical skills. I have in-depth knowledge of preventive, diagnostic and therapeutic veterinary procedures in companion animals. Through my national and international work, I was able to improve my communication and teaching skills. Excellent interpersonal communication, good customer service and efficient time management are my assets for a successful cooperation with your team. In addition to theoretical lectures (online and on site) and seminars with practical exercises, I also like to write handouts and standard veterinary protocols for veterinary clinics or official bodies. Complex medical contexts are structured and presented by me in a memorable way.
I am open to short-term and long-term commitments in German and English speaking countries and in the Middle East. Within Germany, an ATF certification of the training courses is also possible.
