This training block can be conducted as an online or face-to-face event. It contains an introduction to the topic and a systematic presentation of emergencies – arranged according to priorities and organ systems.
Each of these topic complexes includes a presentation with a length of about 1 to 2 hours. Cardiovascular emergencies include, for example, pericardial effusion, cardiac emergency, FATE, blood pressure changes, temperature changes including heat stroke. The acute abdomen training includes gastrointestinal as well as non-gastrointestinal causes. In the lecture on eye emergencies, for example, diagnostics, traumatic eye disease, glaucoma and therapeutic measures are conveyed.

This training block contains an introduction to the topic and an overview of the most important bacterial, parasitic and viral diseases in dogs and cats. Each topic includes a presentation of approximately 1 to 2 hours.
Here I go into the vaccine diseases of dogs and cats as well as anaplasmosis, Lyme disease, toxoplasmosis, fungal diseases and more. In addition, lectures on anemia, laboratory diagnostics, classification and therapies can be held. There is also the option of concentrating on individual lectures in this extensive module. I would be happy to send you an overview of the illnesses and content on request.

This training block includes extensive knowledge on the subject of X-rays. It can be held as an online or face-to-face event or as a partially face-to-face event. It is advisable to discuss the theoretical topics online in advance and then to carry out selected topics as face-to-face blocks and to combine them with practical exercises in small groups. The availability of a digital X-ray system and animals to be examined on site is required.
The module covers the physical background, such as X-ray radiation and -tube, X-ray parameters and radiation damage, the area of radiation protection such as legal principles, limit values and dosimetry, the way to a good X-ray image through correct positioning and the assessment of physiological and pathological findings on X-ray images.

Duration of the individual presentations: around 1 to 2 hours
Required: dog or cat, digital X-ray system
This training block includes the introduction to sonography. This involves basics such as device settings, artefacts and terminology, the physiology and pathology of the respective organ as well as practical exercises on animals in small groups. This module is recommended as a face-to-face event that can be combined with online training courses that take place in advance. It is assumed that animals to be scanned and an ultrasound device with color doppler are available on site. The lectures are presentations about one organ system each, such as the pancreas or the gastrointestinal tract.

Duration of the individual presentations: around 1 to 2 hours
Required: dog or cat, ultrasound device including color doppler
This training block provides an introduction to echocardiography. Topics such as positioning, sectional planes, measurements, indices and Doppler as well as exercises on animals are dealt with. Therefore, this module is recommended as a face-to-face event in small groups on site. For this, animals to be scanned and an ultrasound device are required. However, the theoretical part can already take place online in advance.
I would be happy to discuss further details regarding group size, device details, animals to be examined and event period with you individually. In addition, comprehensive lectures on heart diseases including etiology, pathogenesis, diagnostics, therapy, such as DMVD, DCM, PDA, pulmonary and aortic stenosis, cardiomyopathies and pericardial effusion are possible.

On request, simply structured necessary documents such as handouts or flyers can be prepared for patient owners. I am also happy to illustrate schedules, internal best practice guidelines or branch-wide guidelines as well as other supporting documents for colleagues or in the service of official bodies.

The events will be held via Zoom. You will receive a detailed plan of the seminar times in advance. After the log-in data has been sent to you without any problems, your colleagues, employees or students can conveniently take part in the training courses from the seminar rooms or from home.
These training courses are held on site. Practical seminars in particular can only be taught in face-to-face training. This includes practical exercises on the subject of echocardiography, sonography and X-rays. Ultrasound devices and a digital X-ray system must be provided on site.
All my seminars can be held in German or English. I would be happy to email you the training content in advance so that the participants can print it out on site. There is also the option of storing the content for the participants in a shared DropBox.
After a comprehensive degree, specialist veterinary training and a very varied career as well as several specialist further training courses, I decided to create DocDoreen. My goal is to offer training and further education in the field of small animal medicine in Germany, Europe and worldwide in order to give many colleagues access to practical training.
